Plus-Size Model Told By Nightclub Promoter Not To Bring Too Many Curvy Friends.

Birthday Nights

Many people look forward to celebrating their birthday every year. They plan their night out and invite all of their friends, but sometimes things don't work out the way that they're supposed to. This young woman knows all about planning the perfect night and getting the polar opposite of perfection.

It was Kaisa's birthday and she was excited to go out with all of her friends. She even went the extra length and pre-paid for a couple of bottles to be at the table when they arrived! But once she got there, the bouncer and the promoter of the club said something to Kaisa that made her extremely angry. Wanting everyone to see what they had done, Kaisa shared the conversation on social media.

Kaisa was born and raised in Finland, but she currently lives in and works as a model in London. In fact, Kaisa is quite successful in her field of work. She had problems with her weight when she was younger, but as she got into modeling, Kaisa learned how beautiful her body actually is.

Every major city has prestigious nightclubs that they're proud of. The nightclubs in London typically have a lot of celebrities that attend their events, so they're pretty used to receiving different types of requests. But this particular nightclub had some secret rules that the public wasn't aware of.

Kaisa, who weighs a little over 200 pounds and wears a UK size of 16-18, is a female who feels positive about her body. She loves that she's curvy and has actually become a model because of it. But Kaisa had no idea that her weight was going to be an issue on the night she was trying to celebrate her birthday.

Getting Ready

Just like most people, Kaisa wanted her birthday party to be perfect. She had already picked out her jaw-dropping outfit and her makeup was on point. As they were planning to have her table ready for her party's arrival, the producer and the bouncer told her something that took her breath away. So what exactly was said?

Kaisa couldn't believe what the promoter was saying. Never in her life had she felt so offended and she needed everyone to know what was being said to her. So, Kaisa turned to Instagram to expose the promoter and what he was doing to her.

Her day was going as it usually did, but she knew that her birthday celebration was going to be special, so she went all out. She got her hair and makeup done and she was wearing a killer outfit. As she was waiting for her friends to join her, she started taking selfies to remember the night.

Kaisa was looking forward to dancing the night away with her friends. Unfortunately, she would soon find out that her night wasn't going to go as planned. Fortunately, she knew exactly how to handle the situation.

She was ready for the night to begin. She was a bit nervous, so she messaged the club promoter to make sure that everything was ready for the party. She was with her best friends and she was heading to the club, but she would soon find out that she wasn't going to be celebrating that night after all.

A Rude Bouncer

They walked up to the club's bouncer and explained that they had a table reserved for their party. The bouncer looked at Kaisa, then at her friends, but he wasn't going to let them into the club. Kaisa didn't know what was happening, so she decided to message the promoter she spoke to earlier in the day to see what was going on.

The promoter responded to her message, but Kaisa couldn't believe what he was saying. "Ok one last question—are all the guests plus-size models, we are not trying to be rude but we know for a fact some clubs can be funny and we do not want to send you there," he said. Did this promoter really have the audacity to say that Kaisa could only bring skinny friends with her?

Now that her birthday was ruined and she was feeling shame from how she was being treated, she responded back to the promoter: "So you only want skinny people in your clubs?" The promoter then said that London Club Nights claimed that it was a request from the clubs. Kaisa couldn't believe it, how could her size prevent her from getting into a club?

Could this really be happening? Was the promoter really insinuating that only skinny girls were wanted in clubs? Kaisa was about to make the promoter wish he had never sent that message to her.

Kaisa was obviously furious. She couldn't believe what was happening. Kaisa then took a screenshot of the conversation and shared it with the world. She wanted everyone to see just how disgusting London's "prestigious" nightclub scene really was. A lot of users noticed Kaisa's post and began to share the same screenshots.

The promoter knew that this wasn't going to end well. He may not have intended to hurt anyone, but what he said sounded really nasty. "Not us I am just telling you what they told us as a company." "We do not want to send you there and you not get in." “It’s ridiculous. I got loads of friends that are overweight, I grew up in Kent in the 70’s and there was nobody my colour in my school. Why would I discriminate?” the promoter said in an interview.

Fat Shaming

Kaisa had a hard time believing that people were still finding ways to belittle others. She was done with people's fat shaming, and now the London club scene was doing it to preserve their "image," as well. After what Kaisa did, it's safe to assume that the only thing that wasn't being preserved was the club's reputation.

"THIS IS WHY WE NEED TO ADDRESS THE FAT SHAMING ISSUE!!! THINKING OF HOW MANY PLUS SIZE WOMEN DON'T DARE ENJOY THEIR LIFE BECAUSE THEY ARE SCARED OF GETTING FAT SHAMED," said Style and Curve Magazine when they reposted Kaisa's screenshots.

In an attempt to make things better for Kaisa, the promoter began to comment and like her pictures on Instagram. But Kaisa wasn't buying it and she knew the reputation of the promoter was on the line.

It's honestly extremely sad that in 2019 women are still going through this. The account the promoter uses, GuestlistVipBirthday_Tables, has dozens of pictures of skinny clubgoers, but where are the curvy women? How come they're not shown in the pictures?

Messages From All

Kaisa was receiving messages from all over and Kaisa was reading every one of them. As she read each one, her heart began to break. She knew she needed to do something to get rid of fat shaming for good.

More than 400 people have reached out to Kaisa ever since she posted what happened to her on Instagram. “This is not just a problem for me; it’s not just a problem in London – it’s a global problem, actually,” said Kaisa. Kaisa is determined to flaunt her curves by modeling, but she also wants to eliminate the issue. Nobody should have to feel unwanted because of other people's opinions.
